## Frequently asked questions

### Plans and billing

**Is there a free trial?**
New Cloud accounts get a 7-day Standard trial once per email address. It includes 5 channels, 400 posts per month, 2 webhook endpoints, and 10 AI actions. No card is required.

**What happens when the trial ends or I cancel?**
You drop to the FREE tier, which allows 0 channels and 0 posts. Existing channels beyond the cap are disabled and publishing is blocked until you pick a paid plan.

**Who processes payments?**
Payments are processed by Polar, PostSider's merchant of record. Card details never touch PostSider servers; Polar handles tax and VAT.

**Are there refunds?**
Refunds are handled by Polar through the billing portal or by contacting support.

### Publishing

**Can I edit a post after it is published?**
No. Published posts cannot be edited or rescheduled. Create a new post instead.

**What does a failed post look like?**
A post that could not be published is marked `ERROR` with an attached error message. Check the channel connection and the error, then create or schedule again.

**Do you support every social platform?**
PostSider ships 33 registered providers. Availability depends on the provider API, your account, and the OAuth credentials configured on your instance.

### Self-hosting

**Do I need MinIO?**
The bundled Compose stack uses MinIO for media. Local disk and Cloudflare R2 are the other supported backends.

**Are migrations automatic?**
Yes. The application runs `prisma migrate deploy` on startup. Back up both databases and the `.env` before an upgrade, and never use `prisma db push` on a production database.

**Is AI included?**
AI is optional. Cloud includes it with plan quotas. Self-hosted instances must provide an `AI_API_KEY` (or `OPENAI_API_KEY`) or per-organization BYO keys.
